This Is What’s Delaying Romelu Lukaku’s Move To Chelsea This Summer

Unlike other rivals like Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Man City, Premier League champions Chelsea are yet to make a major signing this summer.

While lots of Chelsea fans are getting impatient with the club’s lack of activities in the transfer market, the signing of Belgian star Romelu Lukaku from Everton is expected to have been completed and announced considering how he had been on the news.

Chelsea have made Lukaku their major target up front this summer with the imminent departure of Diego Costa and Alvaro Morata’s expected move to Old Trafford.

The main reason Chelsea have not yet announced a deal is due to the change of kit sponsorship, which would require Romelu to be unveiled in Chelsea’s new Nike strip.

The Adidas deal will end on July 1, so we expect Chelsea to unveil new star players, including Tiemoue Bakayoko.

The Daily Express reported that Ronald Koeman’s side are still hoping to get more money from the Stamford Bridge club. While the champions had hoped £70M would be enough to sign the forward, the Goodison Park outfit are supposedly expecting around £10M more for their prize asset.

However, it is generally understood that the Belgian would be unveiled anytime soon as a Chelsea player.
