Unai Emery’s latest twist on Mesut Ozil shocking

In what seems to be a twist, Arsenal manager Unai Emery seems to have had a change of heart on German midfielder Mesut Ozil after hailing the player’s spirit and attitude despite being relegated to bench roles.

Mesut Ozil fell out with the Spanish manager over his lack of quality performance with the manager reported to be pushing for his exit but the former Real Madrid star insisted on staying with the North London outfit to fight for his shirt.

This might have won the heart of the former PSG boss as he hails the German international for enduring a difficult period which he is obviously not used to.

Unusually, Mesut Ozil has seen only 13 appearances so far for the Unai Emery side in their 27 Premier League outings despite being the club’s highest earner.

He noted that the team will do better if they have players on the bench with good mentality and performance like the former Real Madrid player.

Unai Emery adds that the club is in a better position with players on the bench with such spirit and mentality as he hopes that Mesut Ozil can help the team secure a Champions League spot with a top-four finish.
