The Old Trafford club have been presented with the perfect opportunity to decide their fate when they meet Pep Guardiola’s men on Thursday.
And talking about the game, new reports have it that Man United Portuguese boss Jose Mourinho is set to hand one of his youngsters his debut game in the Manchester Derby.
The player in question is Matthew Willock. He has actually trained with the first-team on a number of occasions throughout the term.
The 20-year-old star was also named as a substitute at the 0-0 draw with West Brom earlier this month, but was not invited into action by Mourinho.
Willock is a super player who feature regularly for the U23 side, and scores lots of goals.
It is not yet certain if the red devils will play with Frenchman Paul Pogba at the Thursday game at Etihad, along with Veteran star Antonio Valencia.
If both Pogba and Valencia won’t feature, it means Man United will be left with only 16 players in the first team squad since many others have been ruled out injured.
