Barcelona star responds to interest from Arsenal

North London outfit Arsenal have made Spanish La Liga side Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti a top target for the summer transfer window.

The France international was impressive in the 2018 FIFA World Cup as he was part of the team that lifted the trophy.

Despite his feat at the World Cup, Samuel Umtiti seems unhappy at Camp Nou and there are reports that he would seek a move out of the club in this summer transfer window.

This gives Arsenal the hope of securing his signature as they are keen to have Shkodran Mustafi replaced as he is reportedly on his way out of the club.

The Gunners conceded a total of 50 goals in the just-concluded season, the worst kept defensive record by the top six teams in the last campaign.

However, Samuel Umtiti has rejected a move to North London claiming that he will want to remain with the Spanish Giants and fight for his place in the club.

The France international has a contract running until 2023 which he would want to see out without any rush.

It is not expected that his reply will get to Arsenal boss as the manager already claimed that his side can still attract top players.
