Conte To Chelsea Board: These Are The Two Players We Should Now Target

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City appears to have disrupted the summer plans of Chelsea by completing a deal for Real Madrid’s Danilo after the Brazilian emerged as a target for the premier league champions this summer.

The player emerged as a target for the Stamford Bridge club earlier in the summer but they reportedly paused the deal due to the £30M the Champions League winners are asking for him.

The delay allowed the Etihad club to secure his services on a five-year deal from Real Madrid.

The Stamford Bridge club will now need to look elsewhere for defensive options, and it is understood that the duo of Ryan Bertrand and Cedric Soares have been identified as potential targets.

According to The Evening Standard, the club’s Italian boss Antonio Conte still hopes his former club Juventus can allow Alex Sandro make the move to Stamford Bridge. However, he is keen to keep his options open.

It is said that two other players attracting interest from Chelsea are the Southampton duo of Ryan Bertrand and Cedric Soares, and Conte has told the club to target the duo.

England international Bertrand was sold by Chelsea two years ago to Southampton and he has evolved into one of the main members in the club following his impressive performances.

Portuguese star Soares also joined Southampton in 2015 and helped the club finished eighth in the premier league last season.
