Deal Close – Arsenal target spotted at Emirates Stadium

Leicester City attacking midfielder Riyad Mahrez was seen leaving the Emirates Stadium after the Gunners 2-1 Carabao Cup win over Premier League Champions Chelsea on Wednesday night.

Arsene Wenger‘s team have reached the EFL Cup final holding in Wembley against Manchester City after Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka’s second-half goal secured the victory.

The former African footballer of the year, meanwhile, has been linked heavily with both London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea, although former Premier League Champions Leicester City have always said that the attacker would not be offloaded in the winter transfer window.

But rumour could mount heavily after the 26-year-old was spotted leaving the Arsenal Stadium after Wenger’s side’s latest victory.

The midfielder was also accompanied by his Leicester and Algeria teammate attacker Islam Slimani, who has also been heavily linked with a transfer this New Year.

The Gunners are in talks with German Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund over a transfer move for Gabon international striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but after his team’s victory over the Blues, Arsene Wenger was reluctant to talk about the move.

‘The best thing is I [Arsene Wenger] don’t talk [discuss] about it [the transfer]. It wouldn’t help [the situation],’ the French tactician said.
