According to new reports, Jurgen Klopp’s side have beaten the red devils to Tony Gallacher’s signature.
Liverpool have agreed a £200,000 fee for the young defender from his now-former club Falkirk.
Earlier this month, the Scottish teenager spent a week with Liverpool’s academy. He was very much impressive during his trial and has convinced the Merseysiders to make him one of theirs. And Liverpool have made the decision to sign the 18-year-old this month rather than in the summer.
Tony made his senior debut for his former club at the age of 16. His impressive performances at the club caught the attention of some top European clubs including La Liga giants Barcelona.
The exciting youngster has been playing for his country at the youth level, and the Reds chose to sign him quickly before losing him to the likes of Manchester United.
It was made known by liverpool that the Merseyside club paid Falkirk £200,000 for Tony’s signature, and that he is in contention to play for Liverpool U23 side this weekend.
Should the player perform above expectations, manager Jurgen Klopp will definitely give him a chance at the senior level. The German boss is a manager who believes in the youth – we’ve seen how he uses Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
