Legend: This Player Can Prove Himself At Liverpool And Win The Ballon D’Or

Former Brazil international and legend Pele has been speaking about his countryman Philippe Coutinho recently, noting that the Liverpool star can win the Ballon D’Or at Anfield and that he doesn’t need to move to the La Liga to prove himself.

Phillipe submitted a transfer request earlier this summer to Liverpool with a view of leaving the premier league to Barcelona. However, the Merseyside club simply refused to negotiate with the Camp Nou club.

Countiho is understood to be very much displeased with Liverpool’s action for denying him his dream move, but is set to rejoin the first-team at Liverpool once the international break is over.

And speaking to news outlet Marca recently, Brazilian legend Pele has earmarked the Liverpool midfielder and PSG’s record signing Neymar as the finest talents from his country. He also urged Countiho to remain at Anfield for the moment.

“[Phil] is a player I think we should all look at because he is excellent for his team.”

And when he was asked if the 25-year-old needed to move to Spain, his response was that a player does not necessarily have to change teams all the time to prove he is good.

“It all depends on taking your opportunities.” he notes.

Both Philippe and Neymar are expected to play for their national side in their World Cup qualifier against Colombia on Tuesday before returning to their respective clubs.
