Manchester United star Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been named in United’s squad list for the 2017/2018 UEFA Champions League season, raising hopes the big Swede could return to the pitch of play way ahead of schedule.
The 35-year-old has re-signed for the Red Devils after running out of his contract in the summer.
The big striker is not expected to return to action until January after going under the knife in May, but the striker will be eligible for Manchester United’s UEFA Champions League group matches against FC Basel, Portuguese side Benfica and Russian side CSKA Moscow after he was included in the 24-man squad list submitted to UEFA.
Also included on Man Utd’s A list for the continental showpiece is Striker James Wilson, who has just returned from a severe knee injury.
England international striker Marcus Rashford, who does not clock 20 years of age until October, is eligible for the United’s B list.
The Jose Mourinho side begins their UEFA Champions League campaign with a match at home against FC Basel on the 12th of Sept. Their last match is against Russian side CSKA Moscow, also at home – Old Trafford, on the 5th of Dec.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic netted 28 goals last campaign before he sustained a knee ligament injury back in April.
