Nigerian side, Abia Warriors send club striker Ndifreke Effiong parking

The management of the Nigerian side, Abia Warriors Football Cup have sent their striker Ndifreke parking from the teams’ Lagos camp in the ongoing Aiteo Cup for undisclosed reasons.

Giving reasons for their actions, the Abia based club said the player was is being suspended indefinitely from club for gross misconduct, indiscipline and disrespect to constituted authority.

The stand of the club has also been made known to the player in a letter signed by the club secretary Oliver Ndife.

According to the letter as learnt by 234sport.com, the management made the decision after an emergency meeting where the offenses against the player were established.

The striker has been asked to with immediate effect, vacate the team’s hotel in Lagos as well as the club’s home camp at Umuahia.

This is coming after the club were trashed 5-1 by their Nigeria professional League, NPFL counterpart, Kwara United in their first Aiteo group match in Lagos.

But the club management have argued that the player’s suspension has nothing to with the results of their first game.

Meanwhile the Harmony Boys bounced back in their second game by defeating Kano Pillars by 2-1 at the Agege Township Stadium in Lagos.

Abia Warriors will battle Rivers United later on Friday at the Legacy Pitch, National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
