Newcastle, Arsenal legends at each other after EPL game

The passion and rivalry that goes with football does not just end after the boot is being hung but extends after active football by mere sitting and watching or talking about the games.

This was the case of two legends, Alan Shearer and Ian Wright who both sat as pundits to watch the Gunners defeat Newcastle at the St James Park on Saturday.

Arsenal saw off their host in the 2 – 1 encounter after Granit Xhaka’s free-kick before the lead was extended by German international, Mesut Ozil minutes after to hand a security goal.

An effort by Newcastle to get back into the game with a strike by Ciaran Clark was just not enough to stop Arsenal from having the day.

The win eases pressure on the Unai Emery’s team as they record their third consecutive win of the season in five games.

The North London side can now boast of nine points in the league, level on points with north London rivals, Tottenham.

The victory for Arsenal was not a good one for Newcastle legend, Alan Shearer to watch and he wouldn’t just accept the reality.

The 48-year-old said he hunted sitting with Wright watching the game but claimed that Arsenal are not a good team despite the win.

The Arsenal legend had nothing much to say but simply replied in a sarcastic way by saying that the Gunners were a better team than Newcastle and deserves to take all three points in the game.
