Why Mourinho is a laughing stock in Germany

German legend Lothar Matthaus has disclosed that Jose Mourinho is a laughing stock in German and is never taken seriously by football followers in the country.

Matthaus explained that the people in the country already have a good knowledge of the former Chelsea manager and his antics, hence will not be carried away.

The former German international explained that the Manchester United boss consciously gets to the media to attract attention despite claiming otherwise.

Matthaus who looks to be taking side with the media is against the claim by the Portuguese manager that he is a subject of attack by the media.

In his write-up with The Sun, he said Mourinho consciously makes himself the focus as a defence in case he does not deliver at the club.

According to him, the same method was employed by Mourinho while he was manager at Porto, Chelsea, Inter and Real Madrid.

He said all of his antics of picking up a fight by either raising transfer issues, team preparation or the likes to deflect attention are laughed at in Germany

Matthaus said it is a different ballgame with current Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola who only focuses on building the performance of his team instead of involving himself in controversies.

He said Guardiola has done these in Bayern Munich,t like he is now doing at City.
