Arsenal supporters under the umbrella of ‘Arsenal Supporters’ Trust (AST)’ have accused the departing chief executive of the club, Ivan Gazidis of lying to them.
An official announcement was made on Arsenal Twitter handle disclosing the decision of the American businessman to leave the club after 10 years spell for Italian outfit, AC Milan.
Gazidis in his reaction stated that it was a hard decision for him to make but maintained that it was time for him to leave the club and move on.
This obviously has not gone the right way for Arsenal fans who felt Gazidis was has not been sincere to them.
An AST spokesman told the London Evening Standard that Gazidis was leaving the club at the wrong time and should have waited a little while to have things settled before moving on.
According to the AST spokesman, Arsenal are just transitioning from the 22-year reign of Arsene Wenger to a new Unai Emery era which comes with lots of changes.
According to him, Football needs leadership and stability to strive but that might be lacking in Arsenal at the moment.
He further stated that Gazidis lied to them three months ago by affirming his commitment to the club but that cannot be seen at the moment,
The supporters noted the importance of the American at a point when there seems to be a full takeover of the club by Stan Kroenke, adding that “It is important Arsenal choose someone who can work with supporters to make Arsenal stronger.”
