Manchester United signed Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal last month, and the Chilean’s arrival is having a great impact at Old Trafford.
First, there were speculations Zlatan Ibrahimovic is ready to leave the club for LA Galaxy as he is aware of Sanchez’s arrival means less playing time for him.
Then, there were some other claims that Marcus Rashford could also become a regular bench warmer at the club and might leave at the end of this season.
Now, according to new reports, No. 1 goalkeeper David De Gea is looking for a bigger contract due to Alexis’ presence at the club.
De Gea’s current contract is meant to expire in 2019, and he currently earns £210,000 each week.
Manchester United have been trying to extend his stay at Old Trafford by making him sign a new improved deal so they can keep him away from other clubs interested in his signature – and they intend finalising everything before he travels to Russia for the World Cup.
It is understood the Spaniard was initially seeking for a deal that will see him earn around £300,000 each week at the club, but since Alexis Sanchez was made the highest paid player in the premier league, David has now reconsidered his demands and now desire earning up to £350,000 each week.
