Man United Given Fresh Hope In Pursuit Of Portuguese Midfielder

Manchester United have received fresh boost in their pursuit of Andre Gomes following reports that Barcelona rejected Juventus’ bid for the midfielder.

The 24-year-old arrived at Camp Nou last season from Valencia but has struggled for game-time at Barca due to his lack-lustre displays and has been tipped to make a move away from the club this summer.

Manchester United are one of the clubs to have been credited with an interest in the Portuguese star, as Jose Mourinho tries to conclude his summer business with a fourth signing.

Reports in Mundo Deportivo claim that Barcelona have rejected Juventus’ loan offer to Gomes with an option to buy.

Barca are understood to be looking for a fee in the region of €50 million for the midfielder and Juve might be priced out of a potential deal, giving United the chance to sign him.

Liverpool have also been tipped to swoop for Andre Gomes, with reports that Jurgen Klopp wants to add a new face to his midfield set-up before the end of transfer window, having failed to lure Naby Keita from RB Leipzig.

However, Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho might be contented with his current midfield options following the arrival of Nemanja Matic from Chelsea earlier this summer.
