Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has set a new personal record for the number of goals scored in the Premier League in a season after he netted a brace in the comprehensive win over Watford on Wednesday night.

The Reds maintained their lead at the top of the Premier League table with the 5-0 win over the Hornets.

Senegalese international Sadio Mane scored a brace as he helped his Liverpool team to a second league victory in five games.

The brace against Watford took his goal tally to 14 in the Premier League.

Mane opened the floodgate of goals in the ninth minute after he headed Trent Alexander-Arnold’s cross into the net before adding a second goal on 20 minutes via an improvised backheel.

Divock Origi came into the Liverpool XI in place of the injured Roberto Firmino and he scored the third goal for the Reds after the halftime interval before Virgil Van Dijk added a brace to make it a convincing win for the hosts.

Sadio Mane has scored 15 goals in all competitions for Liverpool this season and he would be hoping to continue his rich vein of form when they travel to take on Everton in the Merseyside Derby in the Premier League on Sunday.
