Liverpool Need A Creative Player THIS Summer

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher is certain that his former club needs to sign a creative player when the transfer window reopens in the summer.

Jamie Carragher told Sky Sports that the Reds have not replaced Brazilian international Philippe Coutinho since he left the club for Spanish champions Barcelona at the start of last year.

The former Liverpool defender revealed that Jurgen Klopp has to strengthen his squad with a creative player whether the Reds win the Premier League title or not.

Liverpool strengthened their midfield at the start of the season with Fabinho and Naby Keita but both players are not renowned for their creativity.

The Reds paid £40m to secure the transfer of Brazilian international Fabinho from French Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco while Naby Keita joined from German Bundesliga club RB Leipzig in a £53m deal.

Liverpool have struggled on the creative side in recent games with the Reds registering just one win from their last four games in all competitions including three goalless draws.

The latest of those goalless draws came on Sunday evening in the 200th Merseyside Derby with Everton.

The result ensured that Liverpool lost top spot to title rivals Manchester City on the Premier League table.

The Reds trail Manchester City by one point with nine games left to play in the Premier League this term.
