Everton Midfielder Hails Fantastic Display vs Chelsea

Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye has hailed his team’s fantastic display against Chelsea in their Premier League clash at the weekend.

The Toffees were able to dent Chelsea’s top-four aspirations with a 2-0 win at home.

Senegalese international Gueye was named the Man-of-the-Match for his display against Chelsea.

Gueye tweeted his MotM Award on Monday as he praised the Toffees performance at the Goodison Park on Sunday evening.

Everton secured their first league win at home since January with the victory over Chelsea.

In addition, it was the Toffees’ first league victory over a top-six side in two years since they thrashed Manchester City 4-0.

Chelsea dominated the first half and were unable to convert their chances before Everton showed them the way with two second-half goals from Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson.

The Blues will have to improve their away form in the Premier League if they want to achieve a top-four spot at the end of this season.

Chelsea have now lost four of their last five away games in the Premier League with just the 2-1 win over West London rivals Fulham to show for their troubles within that period.

Blues boss Maurizio Sarri and his players have a lot of grounds to make up with the Blues still three points behind fourth-placed Arsenal.
