Club React To Chelsea Transfer For Begovic’s Replacement

Galatasaray are plotting a contract renewal for Fernando Muslera in a bid to avoid a potential move to Chelsea, according to reports.

Reports in the Turkish press claim that Chelsea are considering a move for the 30-year-old as he is viewed as a potential replacement for Asmir Begovic along with a shortlist of Diego Lopez and Craig Gordon.

A member of Galatasaray’s board has now admitted to the fact but revealed he will be offered a new contract to fend off suitors.

He said: “We are in no rush about it. We’ll sign it tomorrow or at the end of the season. He has one year contract. We want to give him another 5 years. We’ll see what happens.”

Muslera is one of the key figure at the Turkish giants and is currently the highest earner at the club but the club is not ready to let him go just yet.

Begovic is expected to leave the Stamford Bridge before the end of the January transfer window deadline with a move to Bournemouth said to be in the offing for him.

In related news, reports in the Estadio Deportivo have it that Chelsea target Steven N’Zonzi is will be leaving Sevilla a fee believed to the way higher than his €30m release clause.
