How Emery ended Wenger’s 22-years ‘nice’ football

It is now becoming obvious that the 22-year-reign of Arsene Wenger is over with some decisions of the new manager, Unai Emery.

Wenger is known as a ‘Mr Nice Guy’ whose sense of fair play is second to none, making his idea of what a competition means, less than how his rivals have perceived it.

Although his 22-year reign, Wenger always instructed that the pitch be watered either before the game or during the halftime break.

This is to ensure that both his side and his visitors enjoy the game. Although, it has worked against him on some occasions.

With a new era under Emery, things have obviously changed as the only target is to win, even if its to win ugly.

Emery has never taken on a challenge quite like Arsenal and he would have hoped for an easier opening game than to the Premier League champions.

City comfortably won 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium, despite Emery deploying a very sneaky trick beforehand.

Manchester City’s head groundsman, Lee Jackson, reveals how Emery was being mean by asking his own groundsmen to not water the pitch before the game or during half-time.

It was the first time in 22 years this was being witnessed with the intention of stopping City from playing their usual style of flowing football.

Unfortunately for the Spanish manager, the plot did not work as the Pep Guardiola men picked three points in the game.

The plot was designed against the Manchester side with the very hot weather that was experienced on the match day.

Emery has insisted on implementing his philosophy of keeping possession and high-intensity pressing at Arsenal but that has not been fully adapted to by the players.

Arsenal fans wont like season prediction by legend
