Champions League finalists Tottenham Hotspur have had their request turned down in their chase to sign Real Madrid forward Marco Asensio.
According to trusted Spanish newspaper AS, Tottenham Hotspur were told that Spanish international Marco Asensio is not for sale.
It was revealed that Real Madrid is not open to the idea of selling Marco Asensio despite his disappointing outing for the Los Merengues last season.
Tottenham Hotspur are not the only club interested in a move for the aforementioned Asensio.
The likes of Chelsea and Liverpool have previously been linked with a move for the 23-year-old attacker.
Marco Asensio didn’t have much impact at Real Madrid during the just concluded season.
The Spaniard failed to live up to expectations in the wake of the sale of former Real Madrid talisman Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Portuguese national team captain secured a club-record move to Italian champions Juventus last summer.
Juventus paid around €100m for his transfer from Real Madrid before handing him a very lucrative four-year contract.
The likes of Marco Asensio, Gareth Bale and Isco failed to step up in the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo and that affected Real Madrid a great deal.
Real Madrid were out of contention for all the major competitions as at the start of March.
