Manchester United clash with Real Madrid for “world-class defender”

Manchester United are undeniably poor at the back, they’ve conceded 31 goals in the League this season as they sit in the sixth position behind Arsenal.

Ashley Young is in his early 30s and he is linked with a move to Serie A clubs including Napoli and Roma.

On the other hand, Real Madrid, just like United, are having a nightmarish season under Santiago Solari. They are in the fourth position on the league log and that’s not good for a club of their calibre.

The European Champions have struggled to replace former talismanic striker Cristiano Ronaldo who left for Juventus prior to the beginning of the 2018-19 season.

The Galacticos’ problems are not only limited to the final half of the pitch, but they have also equally struggled to keep a clean sheet.

Despite breaking the bank to sign Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea in the summer, Real Madrid’s defence is nothing to write about.

As both clubs seek a solution to their defensive crisis, they have reportedly crossed path as both sides are interested in one player.

Porto and Brazilian right-back Eder Militao is reportedly getting Solskjaer’s attention and the Norwegian manager has charged his employers to make sure they beat the Spanish giants to his signature.

The young defender is valued at £42m by the Portuguese giants and both sides are ready to meet the player’s price tag this month.

However, it remains unknown if Porto would love to release the youngster this month as they aren’t looking for his replacement.
