The Blues have conceded 34 goals in 22 games this season and have tried skipper John Terry, Zouma along side Cahill.
The have recently been linked with John Stone and PGS’s defender Marquinhos and now club captain Silver is the latest on the radar.
At age 31, Silver will not be a long time investment as it is Chelsea’s policy to give a year contract to players above 30-year-old, but his experience will be vital and Chelsea can afford to pay a £170,000-a-week-wage.
