AS Roma want to sign Chelsea Davide Zappacosta in January

Despite only signing for Chelsea in the summer transfer window, Italian Davide Zappacosta is already interesting several clubs elsewhere.

According to Football-Italia, Italian Serie A giant AS Roma are keen on the former Torino star ahead of a possible winter transfer.

AS Roma are in the transfer market for a good full-back and have mentioned several transfer targets, from  Matteo Darmian of Manchester United to Sime Vrsajlko of Atletico Madrid.

Davide Zappacosta has seen his playing time at Stamford Bridge limited since joining the West London club, but a recent injury problem to regular starter Victor Moses has allowed the Italian a run on the team.

The former Torino star started and did pretty well against Premier League giant Manchester United, the Blues last match before the international break.

With only nine matches in all competitions played this League season, the wing back may have an eye on regular playing time with the FIFA World Cup in Russia just around the corner, should the Azuris qualify.

While a transfer at this point in his Chelsea career is very unlikely, the Italy international defender will be hoping for more playing time in the nearest future.

Conte’s men will return to League action this weekend with a date with West Brom and the Italian will be hoping to be in the starting line up.
