Chelsea Star Reveals Transfer Talks With Liverpool Target During Summer

Olivier Giroud has said himself and Chelsea teammate, Eden Hazard are trying to convince Nabil Fekir to move to Stamford Bridge this summer.

The attacking midfielder almost joined Liverpool in June before the deal broke down due to a transfer agreement as Reds wanted to reduce the transfer price after detecting the player’s history of injury.

Despite the stalled transfer deal, there have been talks about the players wanting to leave Lyon for the Premier League, with reports of interest from Chelsea while Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has also refused to rule out a late move for the midfielder.

Chelsea are believed to have upped their interest in Fekir as they hope to add some more firepower to their ranks ahead of the new Premier League season.

Giroud has also come out to hint that the Blues have a concrete interest in the Frenchman, after he revealed that himself and Hazard have spoken to Fekir about joining them at Chelsea.

The lanky striker told Foot Mercato that he spoke to Fekir during their time with the French national team when his move to Liverpool collapsed.

Giroud also went on to reveal that Hazard also spoke with the attacker about moving to Chelsea, while hailing the player’s abilities.
