Premier League giants Manchester United and other suitors can reportedly complete the move of Bayern Munich star Jerome Boateng if they pay 52.7million for the defender.
World Cup star want away
The Germany international defender is currently in Russia for the ongoing FIFA World Cup with his National team as they look to return to winning ways following a bad start to their title defence.
Jerome Boateng has long been tagged as one of the best defenders across Europe and has also won a number of major silverware during his spell at the Allianz Arena, including six German Bundesliga crowns and the UEFA Champions League.
However, it looks like the defender wants out of the team as German publication Bild suggest Bayern Munich have been informed of the player’s intent to leave for a foreign side.
Boateng will fit in at Man United
The German would be a good fit at Old Trafford to reinforce at central defence, which has been a position of weakness for United for some time now.
England international duo Phil Jones and Chris Smalling surely don’t look convincing as a long-term solution in that department, and Italian side Calciomercato have formerly listed man United as being among a couple of Boateng’s suitors.
If Bild’s suggest that £52.7million is the maximum needed to prise Boateng, 29, away then that’s certain money Mourinho’s side can afford to pay in other to strengthen such a vital area.
