Breaking: Man United Aim To Complete Transfer Of Talented Player In Next 48 Hours

According to new reports, Lyon have submitted an improved offer as compared to their previous £13m bid for Manchester United player Memphis Depay. Man United are ready to let the winger leave the club in the January transfer window.

The Mirror indicates that the Dutch winger could complete his transfer to French club Lyon within the next 48 hours. This shows that transfer talks are getting to an advanced level and United are probably close to agreeing to a deal for the player.

Depay moved to Old Trafford in 2015 from PSV Eindhoven for around £25m but he has failed to show his stuff. Last season, he made 29 appearances for the Old Trafford club but has struggled to make a strong impression under Mourinho.

Earlier this month, Manchester United rejected a £13m bid from Lyon as they seem to be looking to recoup a significant portion of the money they spent on the player. Nevertheless, Lyon seem to be very interested in him as they have returned with an improved bid and the Old Trafford club this time are ready to do business.

Already, Morgan Schneiderlin have been sold to Everton for a fee of £20m and it seems Depay could also be heading towards the Old Trafford exit door as well. Though Everton too were reportedly interested in signing Depay, it appear they have missed out on the 22-year-old winger.

Depay is not a bad player and is still a very exciting talent. All he needs now is regular playing time and hopefully he can get back his old form at Lyon.
