Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has confessed that he is a huge admirer of Liverpool star Roberto Firmino following his performance for Liverpool in Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United.
Firmino has worked towards making himself one of the Premier League’s most exciting attacking talents following his arrival at Liverpool from Hoffenheim.
The Brazilian was in fine form for his side as Liverpool earned a 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford at the weekend.
Swede legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic ended up cancelling out James Milner’s first-half penalty on Sunday afternoon as Liverpool earned a point against their bitter local rivals.
However, it was Roberto Firmino’s display that particularly caught the eye of Arsenal legend Henry in the clash.
Henry, speaking on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football said he thinks Firmino is coach Jurgen Klopp’s favourite player. To Henry, Firmino might not have the quality of a player like United’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but what Firmino does in midfield is outstanding.
“On Sunday I was [in] awe of what he was doing – at times it was too much. The way he bends [his] run forces United to play it back.”
The Reds draw against United left them in third place in the Premier League table, seven points behind leaders Chelsea. Manchester United on the other hand remained put on the sixth spot.
