Atletico Madrid Take Steps To Sign Mesut Ozil: Good And Sad News For Man United

According to reports, La Liga side Atletico Madrid have offered Mesut Ozil a route out of North London next year.

Ozil’s contract expires next summer at Arsenal, and there were reports the London club will prefer selling him in the January transfer window instead of losing him for nothing next June.

The Germany international has been strongly linked with Manchester United for some time now, but it is understood that Arsene Wenger’s side are not interested in allowing him to join a rival club halfway the season.

And the Sun made it known that since Saul Niguez is likely to leave the Spanish capital next year (following his links with Manchester United), Atletico are planning for the possibility of losing the Spain international, and have identified Ozil as a player that can add more quality to their team.

The German playermaker is said to be demanding a deal at Arsenal that will see him earn a whopping £330,000 each week, which is something the Emirates club are not ready to give to him.

However, Simeone’s side are hopeful they can swoop in and steal the former Real Madrid player away.

The good news for Man United is that Atletico Madrid are now ready to allow Niguez leave, while the sad one is that Ozil won’t be coming over to Old Trafford anymore.
