Arsenal Star Player is on a Move to Spanish Capital

The German footballer could be on the move back to Spain, with reports suggesting he will be playing in the capital city where he played between 2010 and 2013 before joining Arsenal.

Mesut Ozil doesn’t look like extending his stay with the Gunners and he is moving on to a Spanish club. Ozil could be turning against his former employers when he joins Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2018.

It has been widely reported in the media that Atletico will be letting go of some of their players such as Antonie Griezmann to allow for incomers like Diego Costa, and to free up the club’s expenses.

The future of Fernando Torres is also unknown as at the time of writing. Moreover, Diego Simeone wants a new breed of players who can win the Spanish La Liga like they did in 2014. These circumstances have made the club look for world-class players.

Mesut Ozil fit the criteria. Although he offers something different from what Atletico Madrid are known for, he might be the creative engine they need to split dogged opponents.

The Arsenal midfielder won’t command a hefty price tag as he will be in the final months or weeks of his contract with the Gunners.

Atletico are not the only club in the race for the German’s signature. Real Madrid, Manchester United, Manchester City, Barcelona, and, Bayern Munich are also looking to capture the attacking midfielder.
