Chelsea line up Gianfranco Zola to occupy big position at Stamford Bridge

According to Tuttosport, Chelsea manager Antonio Conte would get help soon, and it might even be a fellow Italian that the reigning Premier League Champions would welcome to fill the role of Technical Director at Stamford Bridge.

The main reason why Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola has appeared as a potential candidate is his ability to return calmness to the West London club that looks to be experiencing trouble. Reports indicate that Russian owner Roman Abramovich is not on good terms with Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, with Director Marina Granovskaia, the intermediary between the former Juventus manager and the club owner.

Zola is a legend at Chelsea and is expected to bring with him the respect legend commands, that means players and staff will listen to him when it comes to recruitment and technical decisions. The fact that Zola is an Italian will also help get Antonio Conte stay longer at the club than recent reports have claimed.

Former Super Eagle star Michael Emenalo left his role as Technical director about one week ago, leaving former Juventus manager Antonio Conte to work directly with Marina Granovskaia, but it’s been reported not all is well between the two of them.

The Blues will hope to stable things at the top offices as well as on the field of play with consistent displays and results to follow it.
