English Midfielder Won’t Leave Chelsea In January

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has confirmed that midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek won’t leave the club during the upcoming transfer window thus putting an end to widespread rumours over his future at the club.

Sarri, 59, was asked about the England international midfielder during his pre-match press conference for the home game against Leicester City in the Premier League and he responded by saying that Loftus-Cheek is an important player for his team.

The 22-year-old has been linked with a loan transfer to several clubs following his lack of regular playing time at Stamford Bridge this season.

Crystal Palace, Schalke 04 and West Ham United have all been mentioned as possible transfer destinations for the player.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek has been impressive this term whenever he has been called upon by Maurizio Sarri.

He has scored six goals in all competitions this season including a Europa League treble against BATE Borisov FC of Belarus.

The young English midfielder spent the last campaign on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea and he has been impressive during his time with the Eagles.

His Crystal Palace form earned him a spot on the 23-man England team to this summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.
He was part of the England team that finished fourth at the tournament.
