Jerome Boateng

Emerging reports indicate that former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho blocked the chance of the cub to land Bayern Munich central defender Jerome Boateng.

United’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward who just revealed this stated that the player had contacted the club when the Portuguese boss was in search of central defenders but he was turned down by the former boss.

According to Ed Woodward, Jerome Boateng made it clear that he wants to have a new challenge and would prefer the Old Trafford but there was a negative response from the Emirates Stadium.

However, Ed Woodward was reported to have backed the decision by the former Chelsea boss owing to the player’s injury records which serve as a big risk to the club should they eventually sign him.

Meanwhile, other options by the Red Devils failed to have a move to the English Premier League side which left United with no choice than to go the first half of the season with the available.

Former manager Jose Mourinho had protested the fact that new additions were not made in the department and was reported to be making other moves ahead of the winter transfer window before he was eventually sacked by his employers.
