Forget Lukaku, Man United swoop in to sign 10-goal forward

Manchester United are believed to be in the race with their City rivals for the signing of Gremio forward Everton Soares ahead of the winter transfer window which reopens in coming weeks.

The Red Devils are long-term targets of the Brazilian who has had an impressive season so far but they are to battle with the Citizens who are also in need of wingers to improve their front-line and also to add to the quality of their attack.

City manager Pep Guardiola is also reported to have been monitoring the Brazilian and he will be ready to pay big for the player so as to win the race ahead of his Manchester rivals.

United are struggling with the form of former Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez and with the reports that he is seeking a move away from the club, there is a need to secure a replacement for him.

Everton Soares is tipped to have the qualities to excel in the Premier League with 21 appearances for his side this season across all competitions and scoring 10 goals.

United are making efforts to turn the season around in the second half having had a very slow start of the first half which started some months ago.
