Chelsea hope of signing Bosnian defender Sead Kolasinac has hit the rock, with recent report from talksport.com claiming that the highly rated centre back is planning to pen down a new deal with his German club Schalke 04 .
Earlier report had it that Premier League giants Manchester United, Chelsea and West Ham United were all interested in the service of the 23-years old star, whose current deal with the German side runs out at the end of the season.
Speaking to the media, the highly rated defender confirmed that his current club general manager Christian Heidel and his agent have been in touch about a new deal.
“I feel good here and Schalke is a great club,” Kolasinac told Kicker.
“Heidel has already contacted my agent over prolonging my contract.
“It must fit both sides, but there is no time pressure.”
Although Chelsea defense have not conceded a goal in their last six EPL games, it is however reported that Italian tactician Antonio Conte is not to plead with the performances of England centre back Garry Cahill and a move for a more reliable defender is on his radar.
With this latest development, the Blues manager Conte will have to look for other alternative defender, if he is to strengthen his defense in January.
