Jurgen Klopp gives update on Virgil van Dijk injury

The Reds top rated and expensive centre back defender, Virgil van Dijk suffered an injury during the match against Southampton last Saturday.

However, it was made know that the Netherlands star had the injury on his rib prior to the match against France side, Paris Saint Germain in the Uefa Champions League.

The report from the match against Southampton at Anfield revealed that the player may have likely been hit in the rib why playing for the Reds.

This hindered him from playing very well during the match against Southampton – he held his rib while leaving the pitch.

Liverpool coach, Jurgen Klopp during the 3 – 0 victorious match against Southampton confirmed there was nothing to worry about the top defender.

Well, it looks as though the absence of the Netherland defender was felt in the Liverpool squad on Wednesday night during the match against Chelsea FC in the Carabao League.

Klopp in a press conference went on to say, Van Dijk injury is still very severe and the player is not yet fit to play.

Virgil van Dijk will be available for the weekend match against Chelsea – Liverpool will be travelling to Stamford Bridge to play against for the English Premier League.
