Forget Van Dijk – Klopp Can Sign This Super Defender For Liverpool

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp must bring in at least one centre-back in January if he is to challenge for the big trophies in the second half of the season.

He already has good attackers at Anfield, and he must reinforce his defense department to challenge other top clubs in the Champions League.

Virgil Van Dijk has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool, and there were recent rumours that the Merseyside club have agreed to a payment plan to sign him from Southampton.

However, there are even more recent speculations by the telegraph that Pep Guardiola is also interested in the Dutch player and is aiming at securing a £60million deal to bring Van Dijk over to Manchester City.

The Etihad outfit could get Van Dijk ahead of Liverpool with their ‘big money offers’, and Liverpool must not put all their eggs in just one basket.

Recently, the Anfield club have been linked with another Dutch defender in the person of Stefan de Vrij.

There are new reports the 25-year-old could leave Lazio next year and that the Serie A club are not confident they can persuade him fromleaving.

This season so far in 16 top-flight games for Lazio, Stefan has scored three goals.
