Five-time European champions Liverpool have been boosted by the news that RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner has snubbed a transfer to German Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.
Timo Werner is a transfer target for Premier League leaders Liverpool.
According to the publication from popular English news outlet Daily Express, Timo Werner rejected a transfer to the Bavarian giants due to playing time.
The petite attacker believes that he won’t be given much playing time at the Allianz Arena with Polish international star Robert Lewandowski still the undisputed first choice striker at the club.
Werner, 22, has been heavily linked with a move away from RB Leipzig in this January transfer window with doubts lingering over his long-term future with the Europa League campaigners.
He has less than 18 months remaining on his RB Leipzig which runs down at the end of next season.
The German international has already been told that he will be sold at the end of this season in the event that he fails to sign a new contract with RB Leipzig.
His form for RB Leipzig has led to the interests of several clubs including the German Bundesliga duo of Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund as well as Liverpool.
He has scored 11 times in 17 games in the league this term.
