Jose Mourinho signed Raphael Varane for Real Madrid when he was still at the La Liga side, and both were able to win the Spanish top flight trophy in 2012.
A few days back, there were reports circulating in Spain that the current Manchester United boss is taking advantage of Zinedine Zidane’s current issues at the club to reunite Varane with him in Old Trafford.
Mourinho appeared desperate to bring Raphael to Manchester United, as he reportedly believes he can bring out the best from the defender.
And according to the latest update about him, Mourinho is said to be ready to allow David De Gea move to Real Madrid in an attempt to make the Spanish side send Varane across to help strengthen his back line at Old Trafford.
Raphael has won every major Spanish title at Real as well as three Champions League titles.
This season, however, he keeps struggling with injuries, which has affected his side’s defence.
The 24-year-old signed a new long-term deal with the Champions League winners back in September that was meant to keep him at the club till 2022, with a release clause of €200million.
Last year, Man United signed Eric Bailly from Villarreal, and also lured Victor Lindelof from Benfica this summer to Old Trafford.
