Premier League Champions Chelsea lost their technical director on Monday when it was announced that Nigerian Michael Emelano had left his post with immediate effect.
The club’s supporters of the club were thrown into some celebration after the resignation, as most fans had called for his head for some time now.
The African has been blamed for Chelsea’s inability to bring in top talents in the summer transfer window for some time now and has also been blamed for Chelsea’s sacking of some of the quality coaching talents that have left Stamford Bridge.
Reports claim Emelano finally left the role due to tensions at the West London club surrounding Italian manager Antonio Conte’s future but the former Super Eagles star who has been with the Blues since 2007, told official Chelsea TV, as quoted by famous British Publication TeamTalk that his resignation was on the cards even before it was made public on Monday.
The Blues will now find a new Technical Director who would oversee the recruitment of youth players and general transfers as well as be the intermediary between the head coach and Russian Billionaire owner Roman Abramovic if the new director wins the trust of the Russian owner.
