Liverpool Set To Battle Tottenham Rivals For Star Player’s Signature In January

This year’s summer transfer window was not a very pleasant one for many clubs because they couldn’t get some of their desired deals done before it was slammed shut on Thursday.

However, all attentions are now being pushed towards the January transfer window, and clubs will hope they can get all unfinished businesses done.

And according to reports coming from Spain, both Liverpool and Tottenham are expected to fight for Barcelona midfielder Rafinha when the winter transfer window comes.

Rafinha was linked with a move away from the Nou Camp during the summer window, but a deal failed to materialise. However, Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo made it known that the player now has his eyes set on an exit once the January window opens.

And the premier league duo of Liverpool and Tottenham are understood to have shown interest in him this summer and are expected to go for him again in January.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is sure serious about transforming the club into one of the strongest forces in Europe. Despite landing former Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain before the summer deadline and the expected arrival of Naby Keita next year, he is still trying to bring in a talented midfielder in Rafinha.

We can’t blame him though. Considering that the future of both Emre Can and Philippe Coutinho is still not sure, the German manager might only be trying to avoid being caught unaware.
