It appears Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is serious about the idea of bringing Renato Sanches to Stamford Bridge this summer, with Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge revealing that the Italian manager asked about the player’s availability after the clash between the two clubs earlier this week at Singapore preseason tour.
Sanches had been expected to complete a season-long loan deal before the end of July and there were speculations on Friday that Chelsea had made a late attempt to snatch him from the grips of AC Milan who are also interested in him.
The 19-year-old was fielded by Carlo Ancelotti in his side’s 3-2 win against the blues and the player performed well above average.
And the teenager’s performances caught the attention of Antonio, even though he will face stiff competition to secure his services, with the German club’s CEO revealing that there are at least 10 teams after Renato.
‘Antonio asked for [some] information about Renato after Tuesday’s game because he knows he [Renato] can make the difference on the pitch.
‘Ancelotti was pleased with his [Renato’s] performance against Chelsea so we can make some reasoning on the player later.
‘Almost certainly we will let him leave just on loan, we still count on him.’
The fact that Bayern Munich only wants him to leave on loan means Chelsea are the ones likely to get him, since some other interested clubs intend getting him on a permanent basis.
