Premier league giant Arsenal have been a subject of several transfer rumours this summer, linking them to top players across the world. Having completed the signing of striker Alexandre Lacazette for €53 million and left-back Sead Kolasinac on a free transfer, manager Arsene Wenger has shown that he is still hunting for an attacking player capable of performing creditably well on the wing.
Reports indicate that Wenger has now turned his gaze towards Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez, after several failed attempts at signing AS Monaco’s Thomas Lemar.
The North London club, in fact, have had three of their offers rejected by Monaco and are reportedly set to switch priorities among their targets, with Algerian Riyad Mahrez said to be a primary target.
Riyad Mahrez has repeatedly been linked with AS Roma. However, reports suggest that the Giallorossi have abandoned their chase for the African, after seeing two of their offers turned down, with Roma’s football director admitting that his side are looking for alternatives, suggesting that a third offer for Mahrez will not be tabled.
Mahrez has been growing increasingly frustrated at the Foxes and has made it publicly clear he desires a transfer to another club after spending four seasons with the Foxes.
