Chelsea could sign Antonio Candreva as an alternative to Danilo

Inter Milan star player Antonio Candreva has emerged as a late target for Chelsea this summer and it is understood that the Stamford Bridge club turned to him as an alternative to Danilo who appeared destined to complete a move to Manchester City.

Danilo has been linked with joining Chelsea in recent times, but the premier league champions are now expected to miss out on the Samba defender as Antonio Conte remains in the hunt for a wing-back as a upgrade to Nigerian star Victor Moses.

Conte’s 3-4-3 system last season saw the wing-backs playing a major responsibility in the Chelsea squad with Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso among the top players who contributed immensely to their premier league triumph.

The club’s Italian boss is keen on adding more quality to his wing-back department and has been hunting for Juventus’ Alex Sandro and Real Madrid’s Danilo.

But Juventus are not interested in selling Sandro after selling Leonardo Bonucci to AC Milan, and Man City ave the underhand to get Danilo’s signature.

Conte has reportedly turned to Inter Milan’s Candreva, and the Sun claim the blues have launched talks over bringing him to west London.

Conte and Candreva have worked together in the Italian national team, a good sign that the talented player could make the move to reunite with his former boss at Stamford Bridge.
