Manchester United have been handed a major boost in their pursuit of Brazilian defender Marquinhos, according to reports.
The 22-year-old defender has been rated as one of the hottest prospects in Europe due to his promising displays for Paris Saint Germaine since joining them from Roma in 2013, showing solidity and composure in France.
Marquinhos has drawn interest from several clubs in Europe and Manchester United are believed to be keen on landing him next summer.
Reports in Goal claim that Jose Mourinho is ready to pay around £59million to bring the Brazilian to the Old Trafford next season.
The reports also claim that United are prepared to offer £8million per annum as the Portuguese boss is keen on bolstering his squad next summer.
Despite interest from several clubs, reports in the Manchester Evening News have it that Marquinhos wants to leave the Ligue 1 side this summer and will fancy a move to the Red Devils.
However, Manchester United will face intense competition from Barcelona who are also keen on landing the Brazilian defender next transfer window.
The Red Devils are prepared to target several defensive targets this next summer as Mourinho is keen on bringing several players to the Old Trafford next summer.
