Manchester United Boss Jose Mourinho Wants This Player To Stay, To Be Offered New Deal

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly eager to keep goal keeper Sergio Romero at the Old Trafford club.

Sergio Romero  plays second-fiddle to first-choice David De Gea and has only managed just nine appearances this season so far.

Argentine side Boca Juniors are reportedly interested in getting him up and believe he can lured back to Argentina.

The South American side are said to made an approach ahead of the January transfer window but the 30-year-old shot-stopper asked to delay a decision until the end of the season.

ClubCall reported that Jose Mourinho has told Romero that he wants him to stay at the club. It was additionally said that the Old Trafford club are willing to ensure he is financially rewarded for his loyalty.

He presently has less than 18 months left on his current £60,000-a-week deal but the club are prepared to up his pay packet.

Sergio joined the red devils on a free transfer in 2015 after his Sampdoria contract expired.

Mourinho Urged To Make Three Big Signings In The Summer

Former Manchester United defender David May is of the opinion that Jose Mourinho needs to make three big-name Manchester United signings in the fast approaching summer transfer window.

May believes the Portuguese tactician needs to sign a centre-forward, midfielder and a left-back in the summer transfer window.

“I think we need another centre-forward if Mourinho is not going to play Rashford or Martial up front,” said May, speaking exclusively to 888sport.

“At times, we lack pace up front and through the middle. Also Michael Carrick is not going to go on forever so we need someone to replace him.

“Left-back is a problem too because Mourinho is obviously not sure if Luke Shaw is his number one. For me, Luke Shaw is a superb player and I would play him week in, week out in front of Blind, Darmian or Rojo.

“He has had a nightmare of an injury and is still struggling with his fitness a bit but given time he could certainly become like Arthur Albiston and Denis Irwin of yesteryear. He is a fantastic full-back going forward.”
