Arsenal fans would have had reasons to lament after the North London derby against Tottenham but they were saved by the Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino.
It is reported after Lucas Torriera was handed a red card in the game, he had waited at the tunnel to speak with the referee Anthony Taylor but he was warned by Mauricio Pochettino who told him of the consequence it would have had on his team.
Lucas Torreira was shown the red card after a tackle with Tottenham defender Danny Rose at the dire minutes of the game which ended in a 1-1 draw.
Suggestions are that Lucas Torreira would have gone against the rules by in an attempt to speak with the official and would have been handed a ban that would have cost his team some games knowing his importance in the team.
It is also reported that Mauricio Pochettino had sympathized with Lucas Torreira by noting that his tackle on Danny Rose was not intentional as he encouraged the Uruguay midfielder.
However, Lucas Torreira will be a big miss for Arsenal as they welcome Man United at the weekend to the Emirates Stadium. A win for the North London outfit will have them move to the top four spots.
