Club Keen On Arsenal Defender But Won’t Pay £10m

West Bromvich Albion have contacted Arsenal over the signature of Kieran Gibbs, according to reports.

The 27-year-old has cut a frustrated figure at the Emirates due to his lack of chances under Arsene Wenger who has preferred Nacho Monreal in the left side of defence.

Although, Gibbs showed some quality during the latter stage of last season when he was deployed to the left wing back position in a 3-4-3 formation but it appears his career at the North London club has ended.

Reports in Birmingham Mail claim that West Brom have approached the Gunners over the availability of Gibbs but are unwilling to pay his £10million asking price.

It is understood that the Englishman is keen on leaving the Emirates in search of first team opportunities elsewhere and a place with the Baggies could be ideal for the player to get game time ahead of Russia 2018 World Cup.

West Brom boss Tony Pulis is believed to be keen on signing a fullback this summer after seeing the likes of Jonny Evans, Allan Nyom and Chris Brunt taking a shot at the position last season.

Arsene Wenger signed Sead Kolasinac from Schalke on a free agent this summer, leaving Kieran Gibbs as the third choice left back at the Emirates behind the Bosnian and Nacho Monreal.
