United in talks with £110,000-a-week star over future

Manchester United are reported to be in talks with star winger Ashley Young so as to hand him a new and improved deal to remain at the club for another year.

The 33-year-old had led the Jose Mourinho side in their last six games but would have been seeing his last days at the club if a new and improved deal is not offered him.

However, talks are reported to have gone down between the club and the player’s representatives which makes it a deal that he will remain at the club for another year until 2020.

Young has grown to be a big, mature and experienced player having started at a very young age and joined the Old Trafford side from Aston Villa with a fee of about $16 million. He has since spent eight seasons with the club.

However, the Red Devils are aware of the age factor for the player and have made an attempt to bring in a replacement with Diogo Dalot who signed for United from Porto for a fee of £19 million in the summer.

There is no doubt that Young is seeing a decline in his football career with age not being on his side but he is still expected to play actively in the Premier League for the next two years.
