Manchester United seem to be in the business of safeguarding their players before joining out to recruit more in the winter transfer window which will be opening in the coming months.
After issuing a one-year extension deal to England international Ashley Young, United are already making moves to hand Juan Mata and Ander Herrera new deals at the club.
Both players’ contract expire at the end of the season and the option of extending their stay for another year cannot be effective at the moment on them hence, there is a need to tie them down with improved offers.
Reports reveal that negotiations have begun between the players’ representatives with a new deal offer expected to be announced anytime soon.
Manager Jose Mourinho has expressed optimism that his side will be able to keep the players much further because of their relevance in the team at the moment.
However, United will exercise their one-year clause to extend the player’s stay for another in the case of Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Antonio Darmian .
Meanwhile, Juan Mata is already being linked away from the club with Arsenal reported to be in line to have him for free.
Manager Jose Mourinho is not willing to release any of his players but there is no doubt that more additions in his team.
